Rules of Promotion

1. Final Results Calculation

The final results will be based on the average of the three totals, i.e., Marks of I-Semester, II-Semester, and the aggregate of unit tests, orals, and homework.

2. Promotion Criteria for Std. IX and Above

Students of Std. IX onwards securing not less than 35% of the marks in each individual subject shall be eligible for promotion to a higher standard. If necessary, the benefit of condonation of 20 marks in three subjects can be granted. Promotion refused will not be reconsidered.

3. Automatic Promotion for Std. VI to VII

There will be automatic promotion of students from Std. VI to VII only as per the Right to Education Act, fulfilling the requirements as per the Act.

4. Promotion Criteria for Std. V & VIII (2023-2024)

For Std. V and Std. VIII as per the academic year 2023-2024, the final result will be based on the marks of the summative exam of II semester. Students of Std. V and VIII securing not less than 35% of the marks in each individual subject shall be eligible for promotion to a higher standard. If necessary, the benefit of condonation of 10 marks in three subjects can be granted.

Progress Report of the Pupils

Purpose of the Progress Report

The results of the examination will be entered in the Progress Report every time an Examination or Test is held. The Progress Report is designed to appraise Parents / Guardians of the progress and conduct of their pupils. The school authorities will hand over this report to each pupil immediately after the results of the examinations are announced. The Progress Report should be returned to the school duly signed by the parents/guardians as a token of acknowledgment of having been brought to them.

Cooperation of Parents / Guardians

Cooperation of parents/guardians is earnestly requested, and they are required to:

  1. Ensure that reports are brought to them regularly and returned to the school authorities within three days. Pupils who do not return the Progress Reports with the signature of their parents/guardians within the specified period are liable to be sent out of the classes.
  2. Go through the report card and sign after each summative examination without fail.
  3. Take effective and suitable steps in case the pupil’s conduct and general behavior are reported by the school authorities to be unsatisfactory.
  4. Ensure that the pupils do their allotted homework & prepare their lessons regularly by devoting as much time as possible.
